Rebecca Livesey-Wright and Remi Graves - Poetry in Motion
Two poets, two pairs of comfy shoes, spoken word on the move.

Remi Graves is a poet and drummer based in London. As a member of Roundhouse's Poetry Collective she has performed at festivals including Lovebox and Bestival. Her work, always rooted in the simplicity of daily events grapples with the slippery idea of identity, and aims to propose alternatives to the oppressive narratives surrounding selfhood and value offered by the status quo. Remi is also one half of Gertrude and Jemima, a poetry and music duo with South African poet Toni Stuart.

Rebecca Livesey-Wright lives in Glasgow. She likes writing and performing poems, which is what she’ll be doing at the UKYA festival. However, she also likes walking, teaching kids art (which is what she does for a living) and coming up with ideas for zines that she never makes. Rebecca doesn’t like taking herself too seriously and has a slight tinge of imposter syndrome. Rebecca graduated  in 2015, but because she did her final project on the issues with access to both higher education the arts, and meritocracy she won’t tell you what she graduated with or where from.

The performance will involve walking a distance of approximately one mile, and will take place outdoors, whatever the weather – so please dress accordingly.

Performance repeats on:
Sunday, 10:30–11:45am
