UK Young Artists is a registered charity that champions the next generation of creativity, supporting collaboration and intercultural dialogue, ensuring a vibrant and diverse creative future for the UK. We develop artists’ practice through cross art form opportunities and celebrate creativity at national & international festivals.

Our vision for the future

our vision

We are dedicated to helping young artists to develop their practice and pursue a creative career. We are unique in that we work with artists from all art forms.  We create places and spaces for dancers to talk to sculptors and photographers to connect with musicians. For painters, dramatists, writers, and digital artists to forge collaborations with poets, ceramicists and filmmakers, at workshops, over breakfast or a late night tipple. This is what makes our work so special.

Our vision is to be the UK’s leading talent development organisation for young artists. Over the years to come, we will support more artists to showcase at our national festivals and internationally at the events of our partners across the world. We’ll offer support through residencies, commissions, workshops and get-togethers, and build our online creative community with blogs, advice columns, interviews and a space for artists to connect, collaborate and create.

By 2020, we would like to have supported 700 creative young people from across the UK and built a community of many thousands online, and brought new work to audiences of over 250,000 in Europe and the UK.

I never envisaged what a profound impact the experience would have upon my practice. For an entire week I became lost in creativity, surrounded by an array of exciting and inspiring artworks and their makers. The calibre of artists was outstanding, and I absorbed the most skillful, powerful and mesmerising artwork I had ever seen. After witnessing so many different disciplines in one event, and from meeting the other artists I left feeling incredibly inspired, and as if a door had opened for me to explore.

I have had exclusively brilliant experiences with UK Young Artists, they offer fantastic opportunities and crucially they respect the artists and the artwork and understand the difficulties often faced by young artists and find ways of being as accessible and supportive as possible. They are friendly, generous, professional, never patronising, and I have had further opportunities and fruitful collaborations happen as a direct result of having participated with them. I don't think I've ever participated with an organisation I've liked more!

It felt like a dream holiday to spend 3 days in a city filled to the brim with some of the UK's highly skilled artists willing to share their expertise, share life stories, share breakfast or a late night tipple and share their knowledge of working in the Arts industry... You gave us a weekend of luxurious encounters with inspiring art works and practitioners.

I was chosen to represent the UK at the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Italy. The Biennale presented invaluable opportunity for intercultural exchange, which has since left an indelible influence on my own fundamental ideas, artistic ways of thinking and creating. For me it was a special and unique first experience of exhibiting on an international stage, full of wonder and creativity from every artistic spectrum. It was a privileged honour to represent the UK, which I believe to be my greatest achievement.
