Harjeet Kaur

Harjeet is responsible for the implementation of organisational structures and practices of UK Young Artists in association with the UKYA board. She realised the Board’s ambitions for a cross-arts platform for artists in the East Midlands through the delivery of the organisations first inaugural festival (UKYA01) in Derby in 2010. Harjeet continues to develop relationships in the East Midlands and beyond to continue this biennial programme of national and international showcasing of emerging talent.

Prior to her current role she worked on a range of international programmes for the British Council which included working with the Henry Moore Foundation to organise a major retrospective of prints by Henry Moore in Russia, developing the arts strand of a key British Council initiative which aimed to encourage collaboration between diverse communities during the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue as well as selecting new acquisitions for the British Council collection

Harjeet has developed freelance projects ranging from teaching, curating and exhibiting both nationally and internationally.
