World Event Young Artists: Selection Update

World Event Young Artists: Selection Update
News - 10 February, 2012

A big THANK YOU to all the artists and creatives across the UK who submitted applications to our call for entries for World Event Young Artists 2012!

The standard of work and diversity of art forms and practices has been incredible.

An independent selection panel, consisting of specialists from venues in and around the East Midlands have been looking at the work and reviewing applications. The selection criteria is based upon: artistic quality, concept of the work, and the applicant’s reasons for wanting to take part.

The best applications have strong concepts which are well realised, innovative and engage with the ethos of UKYA and WEYA. They have good supporting documentation and a clear motivation for wanting to take part in the event.

We are currently finalising selection for World Event Young Artists and working on the National Press Launch. We regret we cannot respond to individual requests for feedback due to the high volume of applications submitted but we will be notifying successful artists in advance of the launch, in a few weeks’ time.

Further opportunities will be made available on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ukyoungartists, @ukyoungartists on Twitter and via our website where you can also sign up to our newsletter.

Massive thanks to all who submitted their work and GOOD LUCK!!!
