Terri Cohen is a fashion designer who has been passionate about the fashion industry from an early age.
'My Biennale collection, Elusive Mystic, is inspired by ancient Egypt and the intricate mummification wrappings designed to preserve the body,' explains Terri.
Elusive Mystic, meaning mysterious secret, tells the story of the body escaping the mortal world and reaching beyond to the afterlife.
Luxurious hand dyed silks, draped chiffons; duchess satin, silk jersey and woven cashmere have all been pleated and sculpted by hand, to make sophisticated and refined garments.
'I hope that my work conveys my talent for drape and shows my conceptual way of thinking. Nothing about my work is obvious or contrived. It is all about the audience interpreting it as they see it,' says Terri.
Terri won the high profile Fashion Awareness Direct Award and her prize included work experience at Harrods with their international collections' buyers.
