UKYA City Takeover presents a fantastic double bill of work created by young people from Nottingham City.
This is a short play, organised and co-written by students from Nottingham Academy, Ransom Road with the support of the Community Recording Studio. The piece will also feature artists from the studio. Set up in 1991, the Community Recording Studio teaches young people music, film and video skills, as well as giving them access to equipment and key industry contacts.
What does it mean to be a girl in Nottingham today? What do we wish for women in the future? Year 10s from Nottingham Girls Academy's Dance and Performing Arts course have been working with Nonsuch Theatre Company and have created a dance and spoken word piece, inspired by Emma Watson's UN speech on Gender Equality.
