Park in Progress 2011

UK Young Artists collaborated with Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes along with other European partners for the 4th edition of Park in Progress. The event took place this summer in the great outdoors – in two areas of the Saint-Cloud National Park in Sevré, the Nymphée d’Apollon and the Jardin du Trocadéro park. Over forty artists from across Europe took part in a residency where they met and shared their experiences whilst collaborating together to showcase new pieces of work against the backdrop of the Seine and the Eiffel tower, at dusk and far into the night ......
All forms of artistic expression gathered together: dance, performance, circus, music, and for the first time: digital arts, represented by a generation of young artists particularly inventive and sensitive to working with the elements in the environment of a park......
UK Young Artists selected Sam Spreckley, réaltympanica and Noel Murphy (sound artist and sound technician) to participate in this 10 day residency. The artists collaborated with one another as well as with other artists from across Europe to produce site specific work in the park environment.
UK Young Artists will continue to work with our European Partners on this innovative project as Park in Progress project moves to a new host city. In September 2012, Park in Progress will be hosted in two cities including Nottingham during World Event Young Artists 2012.
