Leicester Festival 2014

The UK Young Artists Leicester Festival 2014, taking place between Friday 7 and Sunday 9 November, will feature work from 70 artists from across the UK. The festival’s rich and varied programme spans applied arts, literature, moving image, music, performance and visual art.

Our Leicester Festival offers a diverse programme and includes classical music to sonic landscapes performed in darkness, an anarchic theatrical take on a classic piece of literature, storytelling with movement and sound design, seven artists from different backgrounds performing on one stage, screenings of stop-motion animation, a three-screen film installation and exhibitions of intricate illustrations, oil paintings, large scale photography, site-specific work and digital mash-ups.

The whole programme, along with a workshop strand, is free to attend and fully open to the public.

The selected artists will present their work in a full programme of applied arts, literature, performance, moving image, music and visual arts taking place at venues across Leicester this November.

The Festival's visual art programme will be exhibited at Embrace Arts, Two Queens and The Silver Arcade. Performance, theatre and dance will be presented at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Embrace Arts, De Montfort University (PACE), Upstairs at The Western and The Y Theatre. Our musicians will perform at The Lansdowne, New Walk Museum and Art Gallery and Upstairs at The Western. The moving image programme will screen at Two Queens and De Montfort University (PACE) and the workshop programme will take place at LCB Depot, De Montfort University (PACE) and Embrace Arts.

Everything on offer within our Leicester Festival programme will be free to attend.
