Artist Work

At the Biennale, Tim will be presenting his visual art installation, a time-based photograph, entitled Valligrane.

“’Time-based’ is a term usually used to describe media in which duration is integral to the experience, such as in literature, music and film”, he explains. “Traditionally, referring to a photograph as being time-based would have been paradoxical. But through the use of technology, the photograph is viewed in a ‘dematerialized’ form so that these distinctions are no longer clear-cut. The electronic screen enabled me to create this endless photographic space as the viewer’s perception travelled perpetually along that road.”

Tim is enthusiastic about the Biennale because it offers an ideal opportunity for a young art graduate to exhibit in a new context and grow as an artist through their involvement in a professional environment.

“This invaluable experience will give me confidence and a sense of belonging to my local and international art community that will help my art practice grow. I have a strong desire to contribute to this creative body of work and to the dialogue made available through this culturally rich gathering.”
