Artist Work

Louise is taking an installation, Untitled, that consists of 8th July 2001 and diary ball to the Biennale. 8th July 2001 is a neon light in an acrylic case that Louise made while still at university.  The font for the lettering is based on her own handwriting and Louise worked closely with the craftsman to realise this bespoke design to her exact specification.

Diary ball is made of Louise’s own shredded diaries and it changes size, shape and colour after every shredded diary is added, so is never the same in any exhibition.  The installation explores the need to express, and the difficulties that come with doing so.

After the Biennale Louise will be travelling around Australia, New Zealand and Japan and then moving to Nottingham to continue her work. She says: “I feel absolutely honoured and delighted to be offered such a wonderful opportunity in representing the UK at an international event”.
